The Rally Paraguay聽put the world's best drivers up against the demanding gravel roads of Itap煤a. The eleventh round of the WRC聽season was marked from the outset by tyre problems and numerous incidents.

Sami Pajari聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) took victory after completing a very solid rally. The Finnish driver claimed his third consecutive WRC聽win, following his victories in Estonia and Finland. Pajari managed to stay clear of the main problems and finished 25.8 seconds ahead.


Second place went to Hayden Paddon聽(Hyundai i20 N Rally1), who delivered a great performance. The podium was completed by Adrien Fourmaux聽(Hyundai i20 N Rally1), after an intense battle with Elfyn Evans聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) for third place.


Problems began to appear from the opening stages. Oliver Solberg聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1), who initially took the lead, lost a significant amount of time after going off the road and suffering a puncture, while Evans聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) was also affected by a tyre delamination.


Accidents were another major feature of the rally. Alejandro Cach贸n聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) rolled in the opening stages and was forced to retire, while Takamoto Katsuta聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) was involved in several incidents throughout the rally. His Sunday accident also caused a red flag and the cancellation of the stage.


S茅bastien Ogier聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) was also unable to complete the rally after suffering a series of problems.


In the battle for the podium, Fourmaux聽(Hyundai i20 N Rally1) managed to hold on to third place ahead of Evans聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1), with just 5.1 seconds separating them. There was also a close battle for seventh place, with Diego Dom铆nguez聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) having to defend his position from Gus Greensmith聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2), who finished just 22.7 seconds behind.

Diego Dom铆nguez reigns at home and conquers WRC2

The WRC2聽category also had a local star. Diego Dom铆nguez聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) secured an important victory in front of his home crowd.


Dom铆nguez聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) was very consistent throughout the rally and managed to hold the lead all the way to the finish despite pressure from Gus Greensmith聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2). The Paraguayan driver came out on top in an especially demanding event for the category.


Greensmith聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) finished second, while Alejandro Galanti聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) completed the podium. Fourth place went to Taylor Gill聽(艩koda Fabia RS Rally2), who finished just 13.9 seconds behind Galanti聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2).


Incidents also affected the main WRC2聽contenders. Alejandro Cach贸n聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) was forced to retire following his accident, while Fau Zald铆var聽(艩koda Fabia RS Rally2) also suffered a heavy accident during the final part of the rally.


There was also a very close battle for fifth place between Nikolay Gryazin聽(Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale) and Yohan Rossel聽(Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale), with only 10.1 seconds separating them at the finish.

El Rally del Paraguay聽puso a los mejores pilotos del mundo frente a los exigentes caminos de tierra de Itap煤a. La und茅cima cita de la temporada del WRC聽estuvo marcada desde el inicio por los problemas de neum谩ticos y los numerosos incidentes.


Sami Pajari聽(Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) se llev贸 la victoria despu茅s de completar un rally muy s贸lido. El piloto finland茅s consigui贸 as铆 su tercer triunfo consecutivo en el WRC, despu茅s de imponerse anteriormente en Estonia y Finlandia.
