Tänak revives M-Sport with an incredible victory - Rally Sweden 2023 (WRC) 🇸🇪

The Sweden Rally was marked by the return of two drivers to their former teams. One of them was Ott Tänak (Ford Puma Rally1) who in his second rally after the return to M-Sport got a hard-earned and well-deserved victory. Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) returning to Hyundai did not make it easy for the Estonian, Breen had an outstanding weekend and impressed everyone with his driving on snow.

The two drivers gave the rally extra excitement from the start, alternating both in the lead, but on Saturday afternoon Ott Tänak got a small advantage that in the end would be definitive to achieve victory.

Craig Breen in the penultimate stage received a 10 second penalty for being late for a time control and looked set to finish third. While Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) made a terrible mistake on the Power Stage that saw him settle for third position and Breen was finally second.

Bad weekend for the Toyota team, the only one that was competitive was the world champion Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) who was fourth and fought with Neuville for the podium but even so he was not at his best level.

Fifth was Elfyn Evans (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) and sixth was Pierre Loubet (Ford Puma Rally1).

In WRC2, outstanding victory for Oliver Solberg (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) who was intractable in the home rally, it seems that after his return to the category he will be one of the favorites to win the championship title.

Second position for the Norwegian Christian Veiby (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) who had a great rally and third was the young Sami Pajari (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) who continues to evolve positively.

The WRC2 Challenger podium went to: 1ºSami Pajari (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), 2ºGeorg Linnamäe (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), 3ºMarco Bulacia (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2).

The WRC2 Masters Cup podium went to: 1ºMichał Sołowow (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), 2ºMiguel Zaldivar (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), 3ºAlexander Villanueva (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo).

In WRC3, a clear victory for Roope Korhonen (Ford Fiesta Rally3), he was accompanied on the podium by William Creighton (Ford Fiesta Rally3) and third was ERC Junior champion Laurent Pellier (Ford Fiesta Rally3).

The JWRC podium went to: 1ºWilliam Creighton (Ford Fiesta Rally3), 2ºLaurent Pellier (Ford Fiesta Rally3), 3ºDiego Domínguez Jr (Ford Fiesta Rally3).

El Sweden Rally estuvo marcado por el regreso de dos pilotos a sus antiguos equipos. Uno de ellos fue Ott Tänak (Ford Puma Rally1) que en su segundo rally tras la vuelta a M-Sport consiguió una trabajada y merecida victoria. Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) que volvía a Hyundai no se lo puso nada fácil al estonio, Breen realizó un fin de semana sobresaliente e impresionó a todos con su conducción sobre nieve.

Los dos pilotos le dieron un extra de emoción al rally desde el inicio alternándose ambos en el liderato pero en la tarde del sábado Ott Tänak consiguió una pequeña ventaja que al final sería definitiva para conseguir la victoria.

Craig Breen en la penúltima especial recibió una sanción de 10 segundos por llegar tarde a un control horario y parecía que finalizaría tercero. Mientras que Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) cometió un terrible error en la Power Stage que le hacia conformarse con la tercera posición y Breen finalmente era segundo.

Mal fin de semana para el equipo Toyota, el único que se mostró competitivo fue el campeón del mundo Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) que fue cuarto y luchó con Neuville por el podio pero aún así no estaba a su mejor nivel.

Le Sweden Rally a été marqué par le retour de deux pilotes dans leurs anciennes équipes. L'un d'eux était Ott Tänak (Ford Puma Rally1) qui, lors de son deuxième rallye après le retour à M-Sport, a remporté une victoire durement gagnée et bien méritée. Le retour de Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) chez Hyundai n'a pas facilité la tâche de l'Estonien, Breen a réalisé un week-end exceptionnel et a impressionné tout le monde par son pilotage sur neige.

Les deux pilotes ont donné au rallye un surcroît d'excitation dès le départ, alternant tous les deux en tête, mais samedi après-midi, Ott Tänak a obtenu un petit avantage qui au final serait définitif pour remporter la victoire.

Craig Breen dans l'avant-dernière étape a reçu une pénalité de 10 secondes pour avoir été en retard pour un contrôle horaire et semblait prêt à terminer troisième. Tandis que Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) commettait une terrible erreur sur la Power Stage qui le voyait se contenter de la troisième position et Breen était finalement deuxième.

Il Sweden Rally è stato caratterizzato dal ritorno di due piloti alle loro ex squadre.
