Actualmente es líder destacado por delante de Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) y Sébastien Loeb (Ford Puma Rally1).

Rovanperä ha aprovechado los problemas de Elfyn Evans (Toyota Yaris Rally1) como una sanción de 10 minutos, problemas mecánicos y un accidente que le ha obligado a abandonar.
