(English Version)

The Rallye Villa de Llanes ended prematurely following a tragedy that shocked the rallying world. The Asturian event, part of the S-CER, was suspended after the death of co-driver Soraya Barreiro in an accident on SS9, the second run through El Mazucu.

From Rallyes HillClimbs, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Soraya Barreiro, while also sending our strength to Germán Romano. The rallying community came together once again in memory of Soraya Barreiro, with the competitors observing an emotional minute of silence following the suspension of the event. Rest in peace.

Efrén Llarena (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) claimed victory at the Rallye Villa de Llanes after completing the nine stages that were contested. The Spanish driver finished ahead of Iván Ares (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2), who took second place, just 4.3 seconds behind the winner.

Third place went to Jorge Cagiao (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale), who completed the podium 15 seconds behind Efrén Llarena (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2).

Fourth place went to José Antonio Suárez (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), a result that was enough to mathematically secure his fourth S-CER title. The Asturian driver secured the championship following the retirement of his main rival, Diego Ruiloba (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale).

With this championship, José Antonio Suárez (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) reaches four S-CER titles, establishing himself among the most successful drivers in the championship after another strong season in which he has been one of its leading protagonists.

The rally was also marked by problems for Diego Ruiloba (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale). The driver began Saturday with a puncture that cost him around 32 seconds, although he reacted strongly and went on to set the fastest times on the following two stages. However, a second puncture on the second run through El Mazucu forced his retirement and mathematically handed the championship to José Antonio Suárez (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2).

Behind the podium, Álvaro Muñiz (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) finished fifth, while Alberto Ordóñez (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale) took sixth. Sergi Pérez (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2) was seventh, followed by Pepe López (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), Giovanni Fariña (Hyundai i20 N Rally2) and Arnau Bartés (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), who completed the top ten.

The rally was officially stopped after SS9, with four stages still remaining. The classification established after the ninth stage was therefore declared the final result of the event.
