The Coppa Paolino Teodori once again delivered a spectacular weekend on the roads of Ascoli Piceno, hosting the seventh round of the 2026 FIA European Hill Climb Championship. The Italian event produced one of the closest finishes in recent years, with just 43 thousandths of a second separating the top two drivers after the two official race heats.
Thousands of fans gathered throughout the weekend to enjoy an event marked by an intense battle for victory, an outstanding level of competition among Europe's best hill climb drivers and a thrilling fight between the main contenders for the overall win.

Category 2 delivered what was probably the most exciting battle of the season so far. Christian Merli (Nova Proto NP01) secured a prestigious home victory after defeating Joseba Iraola (Nova Proto NP01) by just 43 thousandths of a second. The reigning European Champion made the most of both official race heats to maintain the slimmest of margins over the Spanish driver, who once again proved himself to be one of the leading contenders for this year's European title.
For Joseba Iraola (Nova Proto NP01), second place was bittersweet. The Spaniard was competitive throughout the entire weekend and once again matched Merli's pace, falling just short of what would have been a historic victory at one of the most iconic events on the European calendar.
Third place went to Kevin Petit (Nova Proto NP01), completing an excellent result for Nova Proto by placing three of its cars in the overall podium positions. The French driver confirmed his impressive pace shown throughout the season and collected another valuable result in the championship.
Behind the podium finishers, Alexander Hin (Nova Proto NP01) claimed fourth after another solid performance, while Petr Trnka (Nova Proto NP01-2C) completed the top five after remaining close to the podium positions throughout the event.
Sixth place went to Giancarlo Junior Maroni (Wolf GB08 Mistral F), the highest-placed Wolf driver, while O'Play (Nova Proto NP03) finished seventh.
Spain's José Antonio Alonso Liste (Tatuus F3 T318) delivered another strong performance to finish eighth, ahead of Fausto Bormolini (Wolf GB08 Mistral) in ninth and Karel Berger (Osella PA21 JRB) in tenth.

Category 1 once again featured a wide variety of cars, with an intense battle for victory eventually won by Swiss driver Reto Meisel (Mercedes-Benz SLK 340). Thanks to two highly consistent race heats, Meisel secured the European classification victory and another prestigious success at one of the championship's most renowned events.
Second place went to Italian driver Lucio Peruggini (Ferrari 296 GT Cup), who delivered an excellent performance in front of his home crowd, remaining in contention for victory throughout the weekend and securing another outstanding result for Ferrari.
The podium was completed by Kevin Michael Raith (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), once again demonstrating the competitiveness of Porsche machinery in the European category.
Just outside the podium were Alexandru Pitigoi (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup) and Ignacio Cabezas (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), while Luca Gaetani (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup) finished sixth.
Croatian driver Matija Jurišić (Peugeot 308 TCR 1.6) was the highest-placed TCR competitor in seventh, followed by Marek Rybníček (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), who once again placed a Rally2 car among the category's front runners.
Rounding out the top ten were Lukáš Bicciato (Hyundai i30 N TCR) and Michal Roll (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), both producing consistent performances throughout the weekend.
The most unfortunate moment in Category 1 involved Javi Villa (BRC 110T). During Sunday's race, while setting very competitive times and enjoying an excellent run, his car suddenly caught fire. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the marshals, assisted by several spectators nearby, the flames were quickly extinguished before causing further damage. Fortunately, Javi Villa was completely unharmed, although the retirement was a major disappointment as he had been showing excellent pace and looked capable of securing a strong result in the Italian event.

La Categoría 2 ofreció probablemente el duelo más emocionante de toda la temporada. Christian Merli (Nova Proto NP01) consiguió una victoria de enorme prestigio en casa tras imponerse por únicamente 43 milésimas a Joseba Iraola (Nova Proto NP01). El vigente campeón supo aprovechar al máximo ambas mangas oficiales para mantener una mínima ventaja sobre el piloto vasco, que volvió a demostrar que actualmente es uno de los principales aspirantes al título europeo.
Para Joseba Iraola (Nova Proto NP01), el segundo puesto dejó un sabor agridulce. El español fue competitivo durante todo el fin de semana y volvió a situarse al nivel de Merli, quedándose a un suspiro de conseguir una histórica victoria en una de las pruebas más emblemáticas del calendario continental.
El tercer escalón del podio fue para Kevin Petit (Nova Proto NP01), completando un excelente resultado para Nova Proto con tres unidades ocupando las tres primeras posiciones scratch. El piloto francés confirmó el gran ritmo mostrado durante toda la temporada y volvió a sumar un importante resultado para mantenerse entre los pilotos de referencia del campeonato.
Por detrás finalizaron Alexander Hin (Nova Proto NP01), cuarto tras otra actuación muy consistente, y Petr Trnka (Nova Proto NP01-2C), que completó el Top 5 después de mantenerse durante toda la prueba muy cerca de las posiciones de podio.

Gracias a dos mangas muy consistentes, Meisel logró imponerse en la clasificación europea y sumar un importante triunfo en una de las pruebas más prestigiosas del calendario.
La segunda posición fue para el italiano Lucio Peruggini (Ferrari 296 GT Cup), que realizó una magnífica actuación ante su público, manteniéndose siempre en la pelea por el triunfo y firmando otro excelente resultado para Ferrari.
El podio lo completó Kevin Michael Raith (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), que volvió a demostrar la competitividad de los Porsche GT Cup dentro de la categoría europea.
Muy cerca del podio finalizaron Alexandru Pitigoi (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup) e Ignacio Cabezas (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), mientras que Luca Gaetani (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup) terminó sexto.

La rápida intervención de los comisarios, junto con la ayuda de varios aficionados presentes en la zona, permitió sofocar el fuego en pocos instantes y evitar consecuencias mayores. Afortunadamente, Javi Villa salió completamente ileso del incidente, aunque el abandono supuso un duro golpe cuando estaba demostrando un excelente ritmo y tenía opciones de firmar un gran resultado en la prueba italiana.

La Catégorie 2 a probablement offert le duel le plus passionnant de la saison. Coppa Paolino Teodori opět nabídla skvělou podívanou na tratích v Ascoli Piceno, kde se uskutečnil sedmý podnik Mistrovství Evropy FIA v závodech do vrchu 2026. Italský závod přinesl jeden z nejtěsnějších finišů posledních let, když po dvou závodních jízdách dělilo první dva jezdce pouhých 43 tisícin sekundy.
Tisíce fanoušků si během víkendu užily závod plný napínavých soubojů o vítězství, vysoké úrovně evropské vrchařské špičky a dramatického boje mezi hlavními favority na celkové prvenství.

Kategorie 2
Kategorie 2 nabídla pravděpodobně nejnapínavější souboj celé sezóny. Christian Merli (Nova Proto NP01) vybojoval cenné domácí vítězství, když porazil Josebu Iraolu (Nova Proto NP01) o pouhých 43 tisícin sekundy. Úřadující mistr Evropy dokázal maximálně využít obě závodní jízdy a udržel nejtěsnější možný náskok před španělským jezdcem, který znovu potvrdil, že patří mezi hlavní kandidáty na evropský titul.
Pro Josebu Iraolu (Nova Proto NP01) bylo druhé místo poněkud hořkosladké. Španěl byl po celý víkend velmi konkurenceschopný a opět držel krok s Merlim, když mu historické vítězství v jednom z nejprestižnějších podniků evropského kalendáře uniklo jen o vlásek.
Třetí místo obsadil Kevin Petit (Nova Proto NP01), čímž završil skvělý výsledek značky Nova Proto, jejíž vozy obsadily všechny tři stupně vítězů absolutního pořadí. Francouzský jezdec znovu potvrdil výbornou formu z celé sezóny a připsal si další důležitý výsledek.
Za nimi skončil čtvrtý Alexander Hin (Nova Proto NP01), který předvedl další velmi vyrovnaný výkon, zatímco pátou příčku obsadil Petr Trnka (Nova Proto NP01-2C), jenž se po celý víkend pohyboval v blízkosti pódiových pozic.
Šestý dojel Giancarlo Junior Maroni (Wolf GB08 Mistral F), nejlepší jezdec s vozem Wolf, sedmou příčku obsadil O'Play (Nova Proto NP03).
Španěl José Antonio Alonso Liste (Tatuus F3 T318) předvedl další velmi solidní výkon a skončil osmý před Faustem Bormolinim (Wolf GB08 Mistral), který byl devátý, a Karlem Bergerem (Osella PA21 JRB), jenž uzavřel první desítku.

Kategorie 1 opět představila pestrou škálu vozů a nabídla napínavý souboj o vítězství, který nakonec ovládl Švýcar Reto Meisel (Mercedes-Benz SLK 340). Díky dvěma velmi vyrovnaným jízdám zvítězil v evropské klasifikaci a připsal si další prestižní triumf.
Druhé místo obsadil Ital Lucio Peruggini (Ferrari 296 GT Cup), který před domácím publikem předvedl výborný výkon a po celý víkend bojoval o vítězství.
Na třetím místě skončil Kevin Michael Raith (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), jenž znovu potvrdil konkurenceschopnost vozů Porsche v této kategorii.
Těsně pod stupni vítězů dokončili závod Alexandru Pitigoi (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup) a Ignacio Cabezas (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), zatímco Luca Gaetani (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup) obsadil šestou příčku.
Chorvat Matija Jurišić (Peugeot 308 TCR 1.6) byl nejlepším jezdcem s vozem TCR na sedmém místě, následovaný Markem Rybníčkem (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), který opět dostal vůz Rally2 mezi nejlepší.
První desítku doplnili Lukáš Bicciato (Hyundai i30 N TCR) a Michal Roll (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup), kteří během celého víkendu podávali velmi vyrovnané výkony.
Nejsmutnější moment Kategorie 1 zažil Javi Villa (BRC 110T). Během nedělní jízdy, kdy zajížděl velmi konkurenceschopné časy a bojoval o přední příčky, jeho vůz náhle vzplál. Díky rychlému zásahu traťových komisařů a několika diváků, kteří byli poblíž, se podařilo požár během několika okamžiků uhasit a zabránit vážnějším následkům. Javi Villa naštěstí vyvázl z incidentu bez zranění, odstoupení však bylo velkým zklamáním, protože měl výborné tempo a reálnou šanci na skvělý výsledek.
